SAT Testing
"With more time to finish the parts I think that the scores would be higher and students would be able to get into better schools and then get a better job over all making more money." - Tricia Denea http://www.bloggertricia.blogspot.com/
I disagree with Tricia here. The idea of the test is to test your abilities. Part of your abilities is being able to take a test so the time frame given is to test your test taking abilities. I doubt that the scores would be higher because no matter how much time is given you either know the answer or you don't more time will not change that. Another thing is that the college board recommends that you do not read the entire passage that is given to you. They suggest that you read enough to get the main idea then when they ask a question giving a line number read two lines above to two lines below that line. Reading the whole passage will take up way to much time.
Also colleges do not base their entrances on the SAT alone. It is only part of their criteria. They also base exceptence on GPAs, extracurricular activities, and community service. Colleges may also look at the ACT instead of the SAT. So, if you feel uncomfortable with the SAT you just need to learn better test taking strategies and just not panic when you get to the test.

ok but if you are unable to finish reading then you are unable to finish the questions and then you get a bad grade so if we got more time then we could finish reading and have a better understanding of the questions therefore getting more questions right and then getting a better grade!!
YOU DONT HAVE TO READ THE ENTIRE PASSAGE DID YOU NOT READ WHAT I WROTE. SCAN THE PASSAGE. DUH!!!!!!
I remember the SATs back in the day--you know, when we had to use quill pens. The only advice I have for you is to be prepared; there isn't much studying you can do.
